Tassa cuts bright, rolling patterns above bass drum, while dhantal and jhal cymbals add a ringing metallic spine. Dholak and harmonium bring a more rounded chutney pulse, contrasted with hand percussion, masquerade-band color, and quieter river or savannah textures. Georgetown streets give way to coastal celebration, Rupununi openness, and interior forest shade, each carried by its own rhythmic temperature.
