The deep bourdon of kaba gaida anchors the album, with kaval breath phrases opening clear space above its grain. Gadulka draws long, close-toned lines through that drone, while tambura adds dry plucked figures that sharpen the edges without disturbing the poise. Slow 7/8, 9/8, and 11/16 contours create a subtle forward pull: asymmetry is felt as a sway rather than a rush. Across Rhodope breadth and tighter Shopluk shadows, low resonance and airy replies alternate like paths folding through high grass and stone.
