Across open Sahel air, Peul flute breaths lift from a rounded bendre pulse.

Balafon carries the center in warm wooden patterns, sometimes repeating low figures and sometimes trading quick, speech-shaped replies. A rounded bendre pulse gives those lines weight, while Peul flute enters in short breaths that leave the rhythm exposed between phrases. Calabash texture stays close and dry, tightening the 6/8 and 12/8 flow without turning it heavy. The contrast is tactile: struck wood against hollow gourd, compact motion against open Sahel air, with each cycle gathering energy and then easing back.
