A low kultrún pulse turns in steady circles as trutruka tones stretch above it, spare and weathered. Elsewhere, flauta rajada clusters create a softly vibrating edge, their split tones beating against the firm repetition of the drum. The guitarrón chileno changes the scale completely: multi-course plucks and high sympathetic shimmer draw the music into close, intricate focus. Free-breathing passages gradually find 6/8 or measured 3/4, tracing a long band of changing light from dry plateau and salt-worn stone to rain-dark timber farther south.
