Guqin harmonics recede into xiao breath, leaving bronze afterglow in a quiet room.

Guqin open strings, stopped slides, and pale harmonics establish a close, finely grained stillness, answered by the breath of xiao. As the music widens, pipa figures add dry articulation and sheng reeds hold low clusters beneath the melodic line. Free-rhythm spaces give way to slow chamber pulses, with ornamented phrases passing between plucked, bowed, and bamboo timbres before receding again. The contrast between wood, silk, breath, and bronze leaves vivid impressions: a fingertip releasing a string, a bell's long afterglow, a room returning to silence.
