Turu horns create short interlocking calls above the deep response of skin drums, giving the opening pieces a strong spatial design. Saasaa rattles and iron triangle add bright grain, while guitar and balafon bring warmer coastal and inland colors. Kpelle hocket, Kru palm-wine ease, forest slit-drum depth, rice-field rhythm, and Monrovia band energy retain their contrasts across the set. Percussion remains crisp and layered, while strings provide breathing room and a gentler melodic counterweight.
