Guanacaste marimba lays down a low wooden ostinato, its upper notes flickering in clear, rounded replies. The quijongo adds a more elusive presence: struck-string overtones shift as the jícaro resonator opens and closes, making each pulse feel newly colored. Guitar and banjo bring muted offbeat detail as the album moves from loose 4/4 into supple 6/8, keeping the rhythm buoyant but composed. Sun-warmed bars, resonant gourd, and rain-softened evening air give the sequence an earthy sense of place, polished with just enough brightness at the edges.
