Marimba de tecomates buzz leans into chirimía calls and highland procession.

Marimba de tecomates opens with woody keys and a soft gourd-resonator buzz, soon joined by tun drum and the piercing contour of chirimía. Guitar and violin bring a more intimate son texture, while primera and segunda drums with sísira rattles shift the weight toward the Caribbean coast. The album turns patiently between highland processions, courtyard dances, clouded Verapaz, and Livingston's warmer pulse. Hemiola gives many pieces their inner movement, letting 6/8 and 3/4 seem to lean against one another.
