Balafon lays down ringing wooden patterns while kora and ngoni weave dry, fast-decaying strings through the open spaces. Djembe and dunun add depth in controlled layers, with karignan scraper and iron accents sharpening the edges of the pulse. The music moves from Haute Guinée jeliya to coastal procession, Fouta Djallon flute contours, and the denser energy of Conakry. Even at its most rhythmic, the album preserves separation between mallet tone, skin resonance, plucked attack, and the breath of flute.
