Inanga carries intimate bass-and-treble cells, its dry string buzz giving each repeated phrase a quietly speech-like contour. Ikembe answers with compact metallic loops, while ingoma establishes a tiered drum ground of low pillars, sharper replies, and decisive stops. Bamboo flute opens the texture with short pastoral arcs and lingering modal descents. Close courtly focus alternates with more physical step-driven sections, but open fifths and restrained handclap returns keep the ensemble coherent from the first plucked figure to the final drum cadence.
